"Announcing the arrival of a keyboard that will change the way young people communicate with written language."

No one can have missed the impact that mobile phone technology is having on young people.

It is common to see text messages being constructed on mobile phones without the person even looking at the keyboard; these devices have become integrated into the lives of young people. When it comes to getting the same young people to write creatively using a traditional computer keyboard it can sometimes be harder than it needs to be. Many young people are already familiar with our keyboard layout; it's the same as a mobile phone keypad.

The cre8txt keyboard is suitable for almost all applications that require text input, from word processing and e-mail, to web browsing and instant messaging environments. The cre8txt keyboard is designed for work and play and can be used in one hand.

Young people can type at phenomenal speeds using SMS text slang on their mobile phones, this keyboard brings that expertise together with a translation tool that is backed by an extensive English wordbank.

The Design Registered and patent pending invention is being brought to the market by a group of education technology specialists and edutainment experts with over 76 years of experience between them. They have been working on the project for two years.

Exclusively available with the cre8txt keyboard is an SMS Text Translation tool, this translates SMS text slang into full English. Young people use this kind of abbreviated language on their phones and whilst chatting on their computers.

The inventors believe that this kind of translation and context sensitive word prediction will help learners develop their written language skills and that this technology will be particularly appealing to young learners.

As the user presses the keys on the cre8txt keyboard (which are similar in layout to those on a mobile phone), any SMS text slang is instantly translated. Inside the prediction window that neatly appears on the computer screen, further suggestions are offered that the user might like to consider in completing the sentence.
